Dedicated modders have been waiting for the Skyrim Creation Kit with baited breath, and to try and sate a few appetites, Bethesda have released a clip of the kit in action. They show a few of the things that the creation kit can do, and I must say, it’s looking rather good! Watch the video, and start dreaming about the possibilities.

And now you can see them being recorded by a veritable plethora of well known names. Martin Sheen, Seth Green… the list goes on. Thanks to this trailer, I would rather like Martin Sheen to narrate my life, speaking as the illusive man. That would be absolutely awesome. Pretty much the entire cast sings the praises of the plot and the characters, and gives some sort of hint about what will be going on. Mr Sheen says the Illusive Man is being even more Illusive, and according to Tricia Helfer, the voice of EDI, there are going to be some tough decisions for the gaming’s favourite AI as well. Damn it, I want this game now.

Because you really should. It’s fantastic. It looks amazing, it sounds amazing, and what’s more it comes with the The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition. I won’t say any more, just feast your eyes upon the wonder.

As you are no doubt an avid viewer of our high-class, high-quality, and high-brow YouTube, you will have already seen Stylosa have a look at King Arthur II. Won’t you? Well, if you haven’t I’ve been awfully kind and helpful and embedded the video, so you can, and if having watched said video you wanted to try the game yourself, well, that can be done as well! Paradox have released an hour long demo of the game. Give it a try!

According to the Bethesda blog, the Creation Kit for Skyrim is nearly ready, along with the Steam Workshop. They’re working with members of Valve and with the modding community to do some final testing and get everything all hunky dory for it’s release near the end of the month, at which point you’ll be able to mod and rework the game to your hearts content. Not only that, but the 1.4 update is also on the verge of release, with it being tested on all three platforms at the moment. It’s looking to be a pretty big patch with the customary Bethesda list of bug fixes, which you can find after the break.

While on the subject of Skyrim Mods I thought I would bring forward a mod that I’m sure every single Skyrim player has been wanting since the game arrived.

ThuuMic is a great mod that is simple to install and brings the functionality that pretty much everyone wanted, being able to use your computers microphone to control your shouts. More information and download link after the jump.

Mass-Effect-3

In a move that has shocked absolutely no-one, Bioware’s Chris Priestly has confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will require Origin activation regardless of where you got it from, be it online or from Origin itself. While ME3 “will be available from other 3rd part digital retailers” it will not be on Steam. Well colour me surprised. There are upsides though. While ME3 will require activation on Origin, there is no limit on the number of installs you can perform and it is only a one time activation, not a permanent connection. Unless you’re playing the multiplayer aspect of it, obviously.

The reason for the lack of Steam is that “Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content”, according to Mr Priestly.

I’m not at all surprised about this. EA are pushing Origin as hard as possible, making it a requirement to run it’s games. Locking Steam out of new releases is just another way of getting more people to download Origin, whether they actually want to or not.

So it’s just as well that people are trying to make it happen. I actually got to play some of Dark Souls at Eurogamer last year, and it was quite the tricky game. Quite the tricky game indeed. Luckily, some PC patriotic chaps have started up a petition to try and get Namco Bandai to bring the get-hacked-up to PC, tearing it away from it’s shadowy console father. The petition is having the desired effect as well, with 70,000 signatures at the moment. It’s even got the attention of Nambo Bandia themselves, which is awesome:

Damn you are amazing! I honestly wasn’t expecting such a massive support. My boss(es) even came to talk to me about this, after it exploded all around the world. If you wanted to have the attention of Namco Bandai Games, now you have it. The future is in your hands, and I hope you will keep supporting this. I make a personal objective to make sure every relevant people in Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort

As said by a Namco Bandia admin, here.

This petition needs more signatures, so do be helpful and good and go here, and get your name down, please.

Blizzard caused a huge stink when they announced that you would be able to sell items for real money in Diablo 3, to the extent that a lot of people were sceptical about even getting the game if the system stayed in place. It seems that one of the biggest objectors was South Korea, as when Blizzard submitted the game for approval it got denied due to clashing with South Korea’s anti-gambling laws. How it clashed, only lawyers will ever understand, but there you go. However, Blizzard recently resubmitted the game with the real-money trading removed, and it got approved. So South Korea are either missing out, or they’ve gained something. It depends on how they view such a feature, really. Is this a negative, or a positive move?
