April Fools Day Round Up

April Fools Day Round Up

April 1st is always an annoying interesting day because as we know, everyone has to make a joke about something or the world will end. Or something. Anyway, here are some of the best jokes from the gaming world that surfaced yesterday. And by best I mean not completely awful.

Blizzard did a sterling job as always, announcing their new direction with Blizzard Kidzz, featuring such games as Zergling Teaches Typing, Reader Ravager, The Westfall Trail, and loads more. The Westfall Trail especially made me laugh, largely because of the last line. Don’t die of dysentry! In fairness to Blizzard they usually do a good job. I’m still slightly gutted that the electric guitar wielding Bard turned out to be an April’s Fool joke.

Razer unleashed the silliness in the form of SnakeEyes (review coming, lolz) which is proudly proclaimed to be “The World’s First True Fully-Realized Circumcranial Augmented-Reality Gamification H.U.D”. So… yeah. Impressive, huh? Even for Razer that’s kind of mental, but there you go. You can’t say they didn’t get into the spirit of the thing.

Paradox came up with my personal favourite: www.meta-metacritic.net, which is a New Reviewer-Review Aggregator that Aggregates Reviews of Reviewers. Delightfully… meta, don’t you think?

Google excelled themselves as always. Just watch this:

And there you go. Those are my personal favourites from the day of pain, all in all this year wasn’t too bad for jokes.
