John Smedley (President, Sony Online Entertainment, San Diego) tweeted today, that the NDA had lifted for the hugely anticipated MMOFPS sequel from Sony Online Entertainment.
“The NDA for the Planetside 2 beta is now officially lifted.”
Was the short and sweet tweet we got, this doesn’t however mean they are about to release the game. Which, whilst disappointing, is a good thing as there are still alot of bug fixes and balancing to be done.
Stylosa and Kirioth, who have had early access, can attest to my statement above and have some fantastic tales to tell about the PS2 experience so far. Sty told me he has a whole hard drive of footage waiting and now the NDA is lifted you’ll get to see the good, the bad, the fun and the down right insane things that have happened to them in the PS2 beta so far.
I will say this for all the bugs and other issues (beta is beta afterall), the game looks absolutely PURE! Sony have done a great job so far and I shall be dipping my toes into it this weekend.
