Well it’s finally happened: Riot have been promising a remake of the permanent placeholder/troll pick that is Evelynn the Widowmaker, and now it’s here.
So what does it mean for competitive play? No idea, beyond the fact that either Riot are going to have to make a new champion called ‘I Don’t Have It’ or Teemo is going to be the next placeholder.
According to Phreak in the champion’s spotlight video, she’s going to do ‘tons of damage’ and ‘rape faces’. I think I’ve heard this before, but as with about 90% of the champs I’ve acquired, it somehow never works out that way. But I have to say, I am intrigued an,d on the face of it, kinda like what they have done.
For those of us that face solo queue everyday though, this is a disaster. All the trolls will be out with Evelynn this week, I suspect Twitch will suddenly be back with a vengeance and as an often support player I’m going to have no items due to the constant buying of pinks wards
It’s great that Riot revisit the older champions to rework them when they have fallen way behind the sparkly new ones that have so many cool abilities; I just wish that blind pick normal could have a least one ban and draft at least one more, or that in order to play Twitch or Evelynn in normal or ranked, you had to have a 100% winning rate in over 9000 custom games on said character.
Toytown and I have just endured a night of trolls and I fear it’s only going to get worse with the remake of Evelynn, before or even if it gets any better. The pros tend to say the ELO hell doesn’t exist; I beg to differ and, as evidence, I present to you Twitch and now Evelynn Jungle. If you get a good one it’s great for your side but really sucks for the other five and if you get a bad one, it sucks for everyone but the numbnuts that picked him/her.
