UK StarCraft League Launched

Forget that London 2012 shite, yesterday saw the launch of the UKSCL. A newcomer to the Starcraft scene, it’s setting its sights on taking on MLG, IPL and Dreamhack among others. Here’s hoping!

The league will be based around the UK Starcraft scene, which I must say, aside from the notable exceptions of Team Dignitas’ Bling and Evil Geniuses’ DeMuslim, has been sadly lacking. It’s about time we started to produce some more talent to compete with the Koreans and Stephano and this could be the place to find it.

Here’s there blurb :-

The UKSCL was formed by David “Davesan” Brooks and Albert “LemonyTang” Johnson due the lack of regular UK league competition for Starcraft 2. We aim to help build on the UK’s existing Starcraft 2 talent base by providing a regular weekly league, open to all Starcraft 2 players based in the UK. The UKSCL is currently privately owned and funded, but we hope to attract partners as our userbase and spectator numbers expand.

Season 1 of the UKSCL will consist of up to 5 groups of 10 players who will compete for the top 3 spots in their groups, the top 3 will then go through to an elimination bracket where £100 will be up grabs for the winner.

The UKSCL will also help support the UK scene by providing regular news, content & forums for our players & spectators.

You can find us on both Twitter & Facebook:

We at Unit Lost can only wish them all the best and hope they boost the UK scene. If you want to sign up for a chance at grabbing some cash, then head over to BinaryBeast. If we pester Sty enough we might get him to sign up too ;)

Even if you’re not planning to compete, sign up to their Facebook and Twitter anyway and show them some love. It could be PURE!
